Have questions? We’ve got answers! From what to bring and when to visit, to how to cut and transport your tree, our FAQ page has everything you need to make your trip to Athens Christmas Tree Farm easy, fun, and memorable.
Our farm offers a unique and educational experience for students of all ages. From exploring trees at every stage of growth to discovering how nature supports itself, a field trip to our farm is a fun and memorable way to connect classroom lessons with real life.
Students will walk through our fields of Christmas trees—from tiny seedlings to tall, ready-to-cut trees. They’ll learn about different tree species, growth stages, and the importance of tree farms in supporting a healthy environment.
In our propagation area, we show how new trees are grown from stem cuttings. We'll also demonstrate stump culture, a sustainable method that allows new trees to grow from existing roots—an amazing lesson in resilience and stewardship.
The farm is also home to friendly chickens and ducks! Kids love learning about their care, habits, and the important role animals play on a working farm.
From berries to squash, our gardens produce a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Students will see where food really comes from and may even get to pick a seasonal item to take home.
Tree farms like ours give more than they take. We’ll share how tree farming helps clean the air, conserve soil, and provide habitats for wildlife—making it one of the greenest industries around.
Field trips are typically 1.5–2 hours long and can be tailored to the age and interests of your students. We welcome homeschool groups, public and private schools, and early learning centers.
